Bio
Dr. Rafael Roman was born and raised in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, which is currently home of the largest and most functional radio-telescope. Dr. Roman discovered the benefits of chiropractic services when he suffered a martial arts injury at the age of 16. He attended college at the University of Puerto Rico in Arecibo, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science, with a major in Industrial and Organizational Psychology, all while receiving Magna Cum Laude honors. He then attended University of Phoenix in Puerto Rico, where he graduated with the highest honors completing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. After practicing mental health counseling for a period of time, he decided to pursue a different career, which lead him to the New York Chiropractic College (NYCC). While attending NYCC, he was inducted into the Phi Chi Omega honors society for maintaining a consecutive GPA above 3.5. He graduated from NYCC in 2017 and had the honor of receiving the D.D. Palmer award, given to a student who excels in their technique and care demonstrated in a clinical setting. Currently, he is a board-certified chiropractor utilizing different techniques such as Flexion/Distraction, Spinal Decompression, Spinal Manipulation, Drop-Table Technique, Myofacial, Release, Trigger Point Therapy, and Therapeutic Rehabilitation. He practices at the E Lovejoy Street location and is fluent in both English and Spanish.
