What is Myofascial Technique?
Myofascial technique is a type of soft tissue massage therapy that focuses on relieving the pain from your myofascial tissues. These are the specific tissues that extend throughout your entire body and provide support and protection to bones and muscles. Your physical therapist can find the spots where this connective tissue is not as mobile under light pressure, called trigger points. These points are stiff and anchored within the tissue. The physical therapist focuses light pressure and stretching to help loosen up the restricted movement, which usually leads to reduced pain.
